Shri Harmandir sahib ji is not only a religious place of the Sikhs, but also a symbol of  harmony and social equality. Everybody, irrespective of cast, and creed can seek spiritual consolation and religious fulfillment without any difficulty.  We as a human being should respect and follow the rules of such religious places. We are sharing here a list of rules set by SGPC (Shri Gurudwara Prabandha Committee), golden Temple for the readers.

 

 

* There is provision for keeping shoes in “Joda Ghar” a dedicated place available at free of cost. One must get a token after depositing one’s shoes / belongings.

It is advisable to dressed up properly.  Wash your feet and hands and cover your head with scarf properly before entering the holy complex.

Take off your socks before entering the holy complex. 

Switch-off your mobiles before entering into the main worship place.

Use of Tobacco, alcohol or any other intoxicants are strictly prohibited inside the Gurudwara premises.

Use of soap or shampoo is strictly prohibited during the holy dip in the holy Sarovar (pool of nectar).

Change your wet clothes and deposited them in a Wet-Clothes-Roo

Swimming is strictly prohibited in the Sarovar.
Do not feed anything to the fishes of Sarovar.
Photography is allowed only in the outer side of main worship place.  However permission for photography inside of The Golden       Temple may be sought from the SGPC office of golden Temple. 
Always get a receipt of your donations for langar (community kitchen) or for building.
Serving of any eatables are not allowed in the Parikarma.
It is not allowed to play cards or any other games in the Parikarma.
Devotees should avoid to pay any money to Sewadars on the duty.
Please deposit your valuables including jewelry and cash at the counters provided for the same in the Sri Darbar Sahib complex.
Any complaint should be lodged at the office of Sri Harimandir Sahib.  
Do not take bath at Har Ki Paori.
Facility of well maintained toilets are available for devotees near the Parikrama complex. 
Any Devotee can do volunteer service for food in the main kitchen. 
Playing and listening of any kind of music on any device is not allowed.
